Looking for Mother's Group near Strathpine Rss

Hi new Mums

I am looking for an age appropriate Mother's Group in or around Strathpine. I have an 8 week old boy. Or if there is none around i am keen to start one up.
I also have an almost 8 week old son, as well as a 16 month old daughter, in the North lakes area, but happy to travel. And would be happy to meet up sometime! Have you spoken to your local CHN as they can book you into one for first time mum's if that is what you are looking for! (What do you mean by age appropriate? similar ages of children? or your own age?)
Hi Mummy Mez
Yes meant of similar age to Oliver my little one, i went to a mother's group with babies starting from 6mths to 1 year, just wanted to meet with mum's in similar situation to me. What is CHN? forgive my ignorance..I rang pine rivers community health and they told me they didn't do that kind of thing.
What Pine rivers didn't help you??

CHN = Child Health Nurse.

They do mother's groups with CHN for first time mothers they are generally run through the community centres. I took my DD from 3 weeks and it ranged up to 8 weeks, but you have to book in. There were 3 formal sessions with CHN, then they encourage you to continue catching up for coffee etc afterwards. Maybe contact the Bub Hub (i think it is called) in Strathpine, sorry don't know the details, it is on Gympie road. Or you can call the Child Health Clinic number 1300 366 039 to ask, if that wasn't the number you rang for pine rivers!

Alternatively I go to a playgroup in Petrie which although is for my DD there are a lot of new babies around the same ages as Oliver. You are always welcome!

Another place I found new mothers was at Baby Rhyme Time at the local libraries, I know there is a session at the Strathpine Library, but don't know when.

Hope you can find something! It is really helpful talking with other new mums and realising everything you are going through it normal!!
Hi Ladies,
I live at Strathpine as well and have a 12 week old son. I go to a mothers group that is an informal group and does lots of fun activites. There are 3 other bubba's around my little guys ages as well as some older little ones. If your interested in that or maybe just meeting up as my son is around the same age then let me know in a private message.

Hi there,

I too was wondering if there are any mums and baby groups around the Strathpine area, I live in Bray Park. Did you happen to find any groups yet that you would recommend?

My little boy is 11 weeks now and I would love for him to start mixing with other children and I would love to meet new mums.

Hello I just saw your post, I run a Mothers Group on the Northside of Brisbane, here is the info : )

ATTENTION MUMMAS!!

Are you looking to meet a great bunch of girls around the same age, socialise and make some new friends for you and your bubba?

Well look no further!
We are the Mothers Group for you and your bubba!

Our group is a friendly and informal weekly gathering where mummas and bubbas and expectant mummies with tummies come together to chat and socialise with others.

This is a group for mummas in their twenties and early thirties and for bubbas born from August 2009 to current. I did this so all the children were around the same development level and the mummas are around the same age so everyone is comfortable.

Most of us are first time mummas, with a couple of our regular mummas who are expecting baby number two.

We meet every Monday at various locations on the Northside of Brisbane.
(Unless there is a public holiday).

All I ask is that you come to our gatherings at least once a month, if you would like to come more often then that you are more then welcome to, we love our regular mummas : )

If you are interested, please send me an email to:

mummabubba@live.com.au

or request to join via facebook here is the link:

We look forward to meeting you and your bubba soon.
