People from Adelaide... Lock Rss

The fiance of a good friend of mine was in a bike/car accident on Australia Day - he was on his bike, someone failed to give way and hit him. He's now in hospital with a very bad broken arm and I can imagine, a very sore body.
I'm in Victoria, and would love to send him some flowers and was wondering if anyone in Adelaide could give me the name of a good but reasonably priced florist over there?

Also, do you think it's weird to send flowers to a man? I just thought it would be a nice way to say "get well and we're thinking of you".
Tynte florists in Adelaide have the most amazing flowers... I'm not sure about price, I think they're fairly average.

I would send flowers to a man - but I'm a bit more open minded about it than a lot of men are!! lol

Flowers. It's lovely your thinking of him, but flowers. For a man.
Just wondering if maybe you couldn't possibly do somehting else? Like ring him and tell him your thinking of him? Or arranging something else to be delivered?

I don't really know him well enough to ring him. And I should have said that it would kind of be for my friend as well as it was quite a shock for her to see, you know.

Thanks for the link, I'll check them out.
My DH would love to get flowers, and like you, I'm very open-minded. I feel this guy would appreciate flowers, just from the few times I have met him and things my friend has said.
The mixed orchard hedge is beautiful - for $39. It looks like it comes in the vase too. That might come with a fee for delivery but.

I just saw that one - it looks very nice, and not too girly! Good price too.
I would so love to recieve those flowers!!!!! lol

I've only recieved them a couple times from Tynte - but both times the flowers lasted a WHOLE lot longer than your average bunch.

grin Me too - they're a nice change from the usual gerbera's and lillies you always see. I say "see", because I never actually get any given to me!!
Just wanted to add - I'm in Vic too and went to send flowers to my sister in Adelaide through Tynte. They seemed to have beautiful flowers on their website and seemed reasonably priced too. However, when i rang them, they answered by asking all mine and recipients details first and how I was paying before finding out what I was after.
Also, they were out of almost everything they had advertised PLUS they wanted to add $27 for postage to drive them around the corner to the hospital! They also ripped off another family member, overcharging on her credit card and also charging her for a vase she didn't order. Anyway, I guess I'm saying just be careful when you order from there. I'm sure they have lovely flowers but they are quick to add up the prices wink
Oh, and I think your friend would appreciate the sentiment of flowers. Some places do balloon bunches or chocolate assortments too just for other ideas. Hope your friend is better soon.
Hey,

How about something like a chocolate basket? He can eat it and less girlie than flowers. I have looked up some companies that do Adelaide and included the links (can you tell im avoiding folding a mountain of washing hehe smile)

Not sure if he's into choccies, he's a bit of a fitness fanatic so I'll have to try suss that one out somehow - love the idea though!

i would definatly reccommend Tynte Street Flowers aswell.

maybe a little more expensive than the others but the flowers are always amazing there and last so much longer than anywhere else i have found.
Can I just say (as a nurse) that flowers are a lovely thought but not very practical whilst someone's in hospital. If they get more than one bunch - there's no room for them. They fall over and the water goes everywhere. Lily flowers stain everything (poo) brown, and if you get enough of them in one room everyone will end up with headaches or hayfever. And then they usually die before the person's even discharged. You're much better off getting someone a fruit basket - it's healthy, they can snack on it between meals or when they're hungry, and it helps with issues associated with taking stronger pain killers tongue
