See below an important update on the wipes recall which we commenced on 24 December 2021 concerning Huggies Thick Baby Wipes Fragrance Free - Limited Edition, Tropical (The Little Mermaid design) (80s and 3 x 80s packs) in Australia.
We have become aware that wipes bearing the same batch codes (B21072004 or D21072005) are also contained in Limited Edition, Tropical packaging with the Toy Story, Rex (dinosaur) design. We are asking consumers who have any packs of wipes bearing the above batch codes printed on the side of pack to cease use of the wipes and either contact our Huggies team on 1800 028 334 (Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm AEST) or through our contact form and we will arrange to replace their wipes or provide a gift card.
Please see our updated notice below.
At Huggies, we take the safety of you and your family and the quality of our products extremely seriously, and have made the decision to recall two batches of our Huggies Thick Baby Wipes Fragrance Free - Limited Edition, Tropical (The Little Mermaid and Toy Story, Rex (dinosaur) designs) (80s and 3x80s pack) - sold exclusively through Woolworths in Australia. The recall is limited to the batches described below, both produced on 21 July 2021.
After testing, it has been identified that a bacterium (burkholderia cepacia) may be present in these wipes. Whilst this poses little medical risk to healthy people, it may cause serious infections or health complications in those with weakened immune systems.
We can confirm that this issue is contained to the identified batch codes and we are confident that none of our other Huggies baby wipes are affected.
